Why East-West Snow Services Uses Premium De-Icing Products

At East-West Snow Services, safety is our highest priority. That is why we use Meltco Premium De-Icing Products on walkways, entrances, and other high-pedestrian areas to provide the safest possible walking conditions during winter weather.

For parking lots and driveways, we use a combination of Meltco Premium De-Icer and road salt. This combination works quickly to melt snow and ice, helping restore safe driving and walking surfaces with minimal residue and very little spring cleanup.

Unlike many contractors, we never use a sand and salt winter mix in our de-icing operations. While sand may provide temporary traction, it does not melt ice and creates significant long-term problems. As sand washes into catch basins and storm drains, it can build up over time, causing blockages and increasing the risk of drainage issues. In severe cases, this accumulation can contribute to sewer system problems that may lead to costly flooding of parking lots and other paved areas during the spring thaw.

To ensure dependable service, East-West Snow Services owns two dedicated de-icing storage domes, providing a secure supply of de-icing materials throughout the winter season. This investment strengthens our supply chain, allows for faster response times during snow and ice events, and gives our customers peace of mind knowing we have product available when demand is at its highest.
